protection to the petitioner and the witness of the S.C.No.43 of 2015 and S.C.No.50 of 2016 on the file of the II Additional District Court, Tirunelveli as per Section 15A of the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Amendment Act, 2015 based on the petitioner's representation dated 17.08.2016 ORDER:- This Writ Petition is coming on for orders on this day under the caption "FOR EXTENSION OF TIME FOR LOWER COURT" and upon perusing the earlier order of this Court dated 02.09.2016 and upon perusing the letter received from the Sessions Judge, Special Court for trial of Cases under SC/ST(PoA) Act, Thoothukudi (FAC) in D.No.30/2024 dated 19.01.2024 seeking further extension of four months time for disposal of the case in S.C.No.17 of 2021 (Transfered and renumbered case;earlier case numbers mentioned in the order were S.C.No.43 of 2015 and S.C.No.50 of 2016 on the file of II Additional District Court, Tirunelveli) on the file of Special Court for trial of Cases under SC/ST(PoA) Act, Thoothukudi, this Court made the following order:
This Court vide orders dated 02.09.2016 directed the II Additional District Court, Tirunelveli to expedite the trial and dispose of the cases in S.C.No.43 of 2015 & S.C.No.50 of 2016 within a period of four months from the date of appointment of the Public Prosecutor.

The learned Sessions Judge, Special Court for trial of Cases under SC/ST (PoA) Act, Thotthukudi (FAC) vide a letter dated 19.01.2024 bearing D.No.30/2024 has stated that the case was transferred from the Additional District and Sessions Court No.II, Tirunelveli to the Special Court for trial of Cases under SC/ST (PoA) Act, Thotthukudi (FAC) and re-numbered as S.C.No.17 of 2021. He has tendered apology for not sending a letter seeking extension of time and sought for four months to dispose of S.C.No.17 of 2021.

Being satisfied with the reasons stated by the learned Sessions Judge, Special Court for trial of Cases under SC/ST (PoA) Act, Thotthukudi (FAC) in the said letter dated 19.01.2024, this Court extends the time to dispose of S.C.No.17 of 2021. The learned Sessions Judge, Special Court for trial of Cases under SC/ST (PoA) Act, Thotthukudi (FAC) is directed to dispose of S.C.No.17 of 2021 as expeditiously as possible.
