The writ petition has been filed seeking for a direction to the respondents to accord permission and police protection to the petitioner for installation and worship of Vinayagar Idol at Saravana Nagar, Karattupatti Village, Vadipatti Taluk, Madurai District from 05.09.2016 to 07.09.2016 and consequently to give permission and police protection for procession of Vinayagar Idol and to immerse the Vinayagar statue on 07.09.2016 into Vaigai river.
2. Mr.R.Karthikeyan, learned Additional Government Pleader, takes notice for the respondent. By consent, the writ petition itself is taken up for final disposal.
3. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondent.

submit that every year Vinayagar Chathurthi festival is being conducted by the villagers in the above said manner and that a representation was given to the respondent on 27.08.2016 seeking permission and protection for the said festival, but however, the same was not considered by the respondent so far and hence, the petitioner is before this Court with this writ petition. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would further submit that as the aforesaid festival is celebrated in a peaceful manner by the villagers, there will be no untoward incident on account of this celebration.
5.The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondent, on instructions, gave an undertaking that the respondent would consider the representation of the petitioner, dated 27.08.2016, on merits and in accordance with law. 6.In view of the above undertaking given by the learned Additional Government Pleader, the respondent is directed to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 27.08.2016 and pass appropriate orders on merits and as per law on or before 04.09.2016.
7. With the above direction, the Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
