ORDER

The writ petition has been filed in the nature of Mandamus against the first and second respondents/The Director, Tamil Nadu Archives and Public Information Officer/The Deputy Commissioner of Archives and Historical Research, Tamil Nadu Archives, Chennai to to give the certified copy of the documents namely old maps, FMB, land settlement records along with title deeds of the Sivagiri Zamin with respect to various properties in accordance with the representation given by the petitioner.

2. The petitioner, claims that he is one of the legal heirs of last Zamindar of Sivagiri. If that be so, necessary documents to that regard must be produced, showing that the petitioner is actually one of the legal heir. The petitioner has not given any such details. The bonafidee of the petitioner itself is suspect. The writ petitioner appears to be wandering around to gathering information for which he is not entitled. He has no right to seek the details.

3. Though the learned counsel was asked to address the issue of maintainability, the learned counsel for the petitioner had taken a decision not to appear. It is obvious that the writ petition is misconceived in nature. It lacks bonfide. Therefore, the writ petitioner is dismissed. No costs.
