Respondents Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a writ of Mandamus directing the respondents herein to provide adequate police protection to myself and to the 40 family members on 11.04.2017 to 13.04.2017 while worship at Arulmighu Sri Manthaiamman Temple Panguni Pongal Festival, situated at K.Kamatchipuram Village, Rajathani, Andipatti, Theni District by considering the petitioner's representation dated 31.03.2017 within the time limit stipulated by this Hon'ble Court.

It is the case of the petitioner that about 40 families living in K.Kamatchipuram Village, Rajadhani, Andipatti, Theni District are being prevented by members of other villagers of the same village from worshipping in Arulmigu Sri Manthaiamman Temple Panguni Festival to be held from 11.04.2017 to 13.04.2017 and therefore, the petitioner is before this Court for police protection.
2.Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Additional Government Pleader for the respondents. 3.Today, Mr.S.Balamurugan, Sub Inspector of Police, Rajathani Police Station is present before this Court. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
4.The learned Additional Government Pleader, on instructions, submitted that there is tension prevailing in the village between the members of the petitioner's family and others and unless their dispute is resolved by the revenue authorities, the police cannot take sides and give protection to the petitioner.
5.In view of the above, this Court directs the petitioner to approach the Inspector of Police, who shall enquire into the representation and if he finds that a peace committee meeting is necessary by the Tahsildar, he may send a report to the Tahsildar for organising a peace committee meeting.
With the above observation and direction, this writ petition is disposed of.
