The petitioner has given a representation dated 14.03.2017 to the respondents seeking police protection to the petitioner and his Sangam (Sri Pooludaiyar Sashtha Pakthargal Sangam) for conducting the Panguni Uthira Thiruvizha on 09.04.2017 and thereafter filed the present writ petition.

2.In the considered opinion of this Court, a mandamus that has been sought for by the petitioner cannot be granted exclusively by directing the respondent police to give protection https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

to the petitioner and his Sangam. However, the respondent police are directed to ensure that no law and order problem takes place during the Panguni Uthira Thiruvizha on 09.04.2017. With the above direction, this writ petition is disposed of.
