It is the case of the petitioner that he had taken a contract for cutting and transporting old non yielding rubber trees standing in the Estate of one Manishkumar at Kaliyal Village and that when the workers of the petitioner were cutting and transporting timbers, some 10 persons came there and asked for protection money claiming themselves to be the workers union. In this regard, the petitioner has given a complaint, based on which, a petition enquiry is pending in CSR No.16/2017. Thereafter, he has filed the present writ petition for the above prayer.

2.Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Additional Government Pleader for the respondents. 3.The petitioner has not even stated the names of the persons, who have threatened his workers. The petitioner has not given any description of the persons, who have threatened his workers on 21.03.2017. However, the respondent police is directed to conduct an enquiry in CSR No.16/2017 and if it is found that there is imminent threat to the lawful activities of the petitioner from self proclaimed unionists, the respondent police shall give necessary protection.
