Respondents PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to accord permission and provide police protection to Arulmighu Sri Narayanasamy Temple, in connection with temple festival scheduled to be held on 29.11.2020, based on the petitioner's representation dated 31.10.2020.

O R D E R

This Writ Petition has been filed to direct the respondents to accord permission and provide police protection to Arulmighu Sri Narayanasamy Temple festival scheduled to be held on 29.11.2020, based on the petitioner's representation dated 31.10.2020. 1/3

2.On 26.11.2020, this Court directed the respondents to conduct a peace committee meeting and thereafter accord permission to conduct the temple festival for the aforesaid dates and as the order copy was not made ready, the matter has been listed today under the caption 'for clarification'.

3.The learned counsel for the petitioner would state that since the order copy was not made ready, the petitioner was not able to conduct the temple festival and would pray for the Court's indulgence to conduct the temple festival on different date. 4.The learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) on instructions would state that since the respondents did not receive the order copy, they did not grant permission and therefore, if a fresh representation is given by the petitioner for conducting the temple festival for future date, the same will be considered by the respondents and appropriate orders will be passed within a time frame.

5.Considering the submissions made by the learned counsel for the petitioner as well as by the learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side), the petitioner is directed to submit a fresh representation to the respondents forthwith seeking permission to conduct temple festival on different date and on receipt of the same, the respondents are directed to conduct a peace committee meeting and accord permission for conducting the temple festival in accordance with law within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of the representation.

6.With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
