This petition has been filed, seeking to direct the respondents to grant permission and necessary protection to perform the programme to put Vinayagar Idol in the eve of Vinayagar Chathurthi Thiruvizha in Thirumani Nagar, Sivakasi Town, Virudhungar District by considering the petitioner's representation dated 26.08.2016.

2. Mr.R.Karthikeyan, learned Additional Government Pleader, takes notice for the respondents. By consent, the writ petition itself is taken up for final disposal.

3. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents.

4. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that the Vinayagar Chathurthi festival is being conducted by the villagers regularly in order to promote harmony among public; that a representation was given to the respondent, but, however, the same was not considered by the respondent so far and hence, the petitioner is before this Court with this writ petition.

4.1. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would further submit that as the Vinayagar Chathurthi festival is conducted in a peaceful manner by the villagers, there will be no untoward incident on account of this festival.

5. The learned Additional Government Pleader for the respondents would submit that the representation of the petitioner dated 26.08.2016 will be considered and suitable orders will be passed thereon.

6. Once a representation has been received by the respondents, it is their bounden duty to decide on the same. Therefore, the 3rd respondent is directed to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 26.08.2016 and pass appropriate orders thereon on merits and in accordance with law.

With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
