ORDER
The petitioner has filed this writ petition seeking a direction to the respondents to issue patta to his land in survey No.1314/2, having an extent of about 17 cents in Chitharevu Village, Athur Taluk, Dindigul District.
2. According to the petitioner, the above said land is a Natham Poromboke land. His family has been in possession and enjoyment of the said land for more than 100 years. On 09.08.2006, he applied before the first respondent/District Collector for granting patta for Sy.No.1314/2 and the same is pending, the Citharevu first grade Panchayat also passed a resolution on 06.08.2010 requesting the second respondent to issue patta for the said land in favour of the petitioner. Thereafter, he filed another application to the first respondent, on 02.08.2013, requesting him to grant patta. Till date, no order has been passed granting patta. Hence, he has come forward with this writ petition.

3.Heard both sides.
4.Since the petitioner's application, is pending before the first respondent, without any disposal, this Court is of the view that it is suffice to direct the first respondent to consider the petitioner's application dated 02.08.2013 within a time frame. Hence, the first respondent is to consider and dispose of the petitioner's application dated 02.08.2013, on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
5.With the above direction, the writ petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
