Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issuance of a writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to grant permission to conduct the "Aadal Paadal(Dance Programme)" on 15.09.2016 and 16.09.2016 at about Night 06.00 p.m. To 11.00 p.m. For two days, to celebrate the festival in "Sri Santhana Mariamman Tirukovil, Aavani urchava festival", which is situated in Narasanvilai, South Authoor, Tuticorin District, and consequently give adequate police protection to the festival.

This writ petition has been filed, seeking a direction to the respondents to grant permission and protection for Adal Padal dance programme scheduled to be held on 15.09.2016 and 16.09.2016 in Sri Santhana Mariamman Tirukovil, Narasanvilai, South Authoor, Tuticorin District, by considering the petitioner's representation, dated 03.09.2016.
2. Learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the villagers jointly decided to perform the cultural event in Sri Santhana Mariamman Tirukovil, Narasanvilai, South Authoor, Tuticorin District, scheduled to be held on 15.09.2016 and 16.09.2016. He would further submit that in this connection, a representation was given to the respondent police on 03.09.2016, with a request to grant permission to conduct the programme on the above said dates. However, the respondent Police has not yet https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
considered the said representation and hence, the petitioner is before this Court with this Writ Petition.
3. Heard the learned Government Advocate for the respondent.
4. In view of the limited scope of prayer sought for in this petition, the second respondent police is directed to pass orders in accordance with law either permitting or rejecting the representation, dated 03.09.2016, given by the petitioner, taking into account the law and order problem and other aspects, prevailing in the area, well before the date of function.
5. With the above direction,this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
