O R D E R
Heard Mr. K. Kannan, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner, and Mr. M. Mahaboob Athiff, learned Government Advocate, who accepts notice on behalf of the respondents.
2.The petitioner has approached this Court seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to consider his representation dated 14.05.2026.
3.In the said representation, the petitioner has requested the second respondent to issue a legal heir certificate in respect of his deceased paternal aunt, Tmt. Mokkaiyammal, claiming that he is her Class-II legal heir. The grievance of the petitioner is that, despite the submission of the representation, no orders have been passed by the second respondent till date.
4.Mr. M. Mahaboob Athiff, learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents, on instructions, submitted that the 2/5
petitioner's representation dated 14.05.2026 would be considered and disposed of by the second respondent on its own merits within such time as may be stipulated by this Court. The said submission is placed on record.
5.In view of the above submission, and without expressing any opinion on the merits of the petitioner's claim, the writ petition stands disposed of with a direction to the second respondent to consider and dispose of the petitioner's representation dated 14.05.2026, on its own merits and in accordance with law, after affording the petitioner an opportunity of hearing, if required.
6.The aforesaid exercise shall be completed within a period of eight (8) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 7.There shall be no order as to costs.
