PRAYER: Writ petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to dispose of the petitioner Appeal dated 25.01.2011 preferred by the petitioner as against the order passed by the second respondent in No.6629/Legal-5/Olangu/TNSTC/2009 dated 28.08.2011 in imposing the punishment of increment cut for a period of one year with cumulative effect upon the petitioner, within a time frame that may be fixed by this Court.

This Writ Petition has been filed to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to dispose of the petitioner Appeal dated 25.01.2011 preferred by the petitioner as against the order passed by the second respondent in No.6629/Legal5/Olangu/TNSTC/2009 dated 28.08.2011 in imposing the punishment of increment cut for a period of one year with cumulative effect upon the petitioner, within a time frame that may be fixed by this Court.

2. Heard, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondents.
3. K.Sathiya Singh, learned Standing Counsel for TNSTC, takes notice for the respondents. By consent, the Writ petition itself is taken up for final disposal.
4.Having regard to the limited scope of the prayer sought before this Court by the learned Counsel for the petitioner without expressing any opinion on the merits of the petitioner's case in the Appeal, this Court is inclined to pass the following direction.
"The first respondent is directed to pass appropriate orders on the petitioner's Appeal, dated 25.10.2011 on merits and in accordance with law within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order."
5.Accordingly this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
