Respondents PRAYER: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents 1 to 5 to grant permission to conduct the temple festival from 11.04.2017 to 20.04.2017 at Arulmigu Sri Athimuthumariamman Thirukovil situated at Gokale Street, Ambedkar Nagar, Srirengam, Trichy-6 and to provide adequate police protection based on the petitioner's representations dated 20.03.2017 27.03.2017 and 05.04.2017. ORDER
[Order of the Court was made by A.SELVAM, J.] This writ petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to direct the respondents 1 to 5 to give necessary police protection from 11.04.2017 to 20.04.2017 on https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
the eve of festival in the temple mentioned therein, by way of issuing a writ of mandamus.
2.Mr.M.Govindan, learned Special Government Pleader, has taken notice for the respondents 1 to 5. Considering the nature of the relief sought in the writ petition and also considering the various representations given by the petitioner, notice need not be sent to the sixth respondent.
3.The learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents 1 to 5 has represented that on the basis of representations given by the petitioner, the third respondent viz., Tahsildar, Srirengam Taluk has convened a Peace Committee Meeting on several occasions, but the petitioner has failed to lend his cooperation.
4.Considering the representation made on the side of the respondents 1 to 5, this Court is inclined to pass the following order.
5.In fine, this writ petition is allowed in part without costs and the third respondent viz., Tahsildar, Srirengam Taluk is directed to convene a Peace Committee Meeting once again. The petitioner is also directed to participate in Peace Committee Meeting without fail.
