Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Additional Government Pleader for the respondent.

2. By consent, the main writ petition itself is taken up for final disposal.

3. This writ petition has been filed by the petitioner seeking a direction to the respondents to grant Patta to his house site, a Natham Puramboku in Survey No.236/4 to an extent of 2 1⁄2 cents situated at Pillayarkoil Street, Mela Mruthuvakkudi, Aduthurai, Thanjavur District, by considering his representation dated 16.10.2015.

4. According to the petitioner, he is in possession and enjoyment of a Natham land situated in the above said Survey Number. He filed an application before the first respondent as early as on 16.10.2015, requesting him to grant Patta for his house site. But the respondents did not consider the application. Hence, the petitioner has come forward with the present writ petition seeking the aforesaid relief.

5. In view of the fact that the petitioner's application is pending from 16.10.2015, the respondents are directed to consider his application and pass orders, on merits and in accordance with law, after issuing notice to the petitioner as well as the rival claimant if any, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6. With the above direction, the writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
