ORDER
The petitioner seeks a direction to the respondents to extent the lease period granted to the petitioner from 01.01.2026 to 30.04.2026 in respect of the land in S.No.72 situated in Thayamangalam Village, Ilayankudi Taluk, Sivagangai District belonging to the 3rd respondent temple based on his representation dated 26.04.2025.
2. Mr.S.S.Madhavan, learned Additional Government Pleader, takes notice for the respondents 1 and 2. Mr.T.S.Mohamed Mohideen, learned counsel takes notice for the third respondent. By consent of both sides, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.
3. It is the specific case of the petitioner that the petitioner was declared as a successful bidder on 22.11.2024. However, the physical possession of the land was given to the petitioner only during the first 2/4
week of April 2025, after the temple festival. Therefore, the petitioner's period of contract has to be reckoned from April 2025.
4. The learned counsel for the third respondent would submit that the representation of the petitioner will be considered in terms of the conditions stipulated in the tender notification dated 30.10.2024.
5. Having considered the submissions of the learned counsel for the petitioner, the learned Additional Government Pleader for the respondents 1 and 2, and the learned counsel appearing for the third respondent, there shall be a direction to the second respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 26.04.2025 in the light of the attending facts and circumstances of the case as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
6. With the above direction, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
