Respondent PRAYER: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for the issuance of a Writ of Certiorarified Mandamus to call for the records pertaining to the impugned order passed by the respondent in his proceedings dated 23.3.2017 and quash the same as illegal and consequently directing the respondent to grant permission and afford protection for conducting cock fight, a Traditional Game in continuation of Chithirai Festival on 16.04.2017 from 07.00 a.m. onwards at the ground situated near S.S.N.Thirumana Mandapam, Alangulam, Tirunelveli District.

[Order of the Court was made by A.SELVAM, J.] This writ petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to call for records relating to the order dated 23.03.2017 passed by the respondent and quash the same, by way of issuing a writ of certiorarified mandamus. 2.Mr.M.Govindan, learned Special Government Pleader, has taken notice for the respondents.

3.It is seen from the records that the petitioner has given a representation to the respondent for getting necessary permission with regard to cock fight. The respondent has rejected the same by way of saying that it is not permissible under law. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/ 4.Considering the reason given in the impugned order and

also considering the fact that cock fight is not recognised under law, the proceeding dated 23.03.2017 passed by the respondent is perfectly correct and the same does not call for any interference. 5.In fine, this writ petition is dismissed without costs sd/- Assistant Registrar(RTI) /True copy/ Sub Assistant Registrar To The Inspector of Police, Alangulam Police Station, Tirunelveli District.
