PRAYER: Writ petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus, or any other order or direction in the nature of a writ directing the first respondent i.e., the Agriculture Production Commissioner and Principal Secretary to Government, Agriculture Department, Chennai to pass appropriate orders on the petitioners representation dated 29.01.2017 regarding the petitioner's notional promotion as Deputy Director of Horticulture on par with his juniors and re-fixation of pension within a specified time frame that may be fixed by this Court.

This Writ petition has been filed by the petitioner to issue a Writ of Mandamus, or any other order or direction in the nature of a writ directing the first respondent i.e., the Agriculture Production Commissioner and Principal Secretary to Government, Agriculture Department, Chennai to pass appropriate orders on the petitioners representation dated 29.01.2017 regarding the petitioner's national promotion as Deputy Director or Horticulture on par with his juniors and re-fixation of pension within a specified time frame that may be fixed by this Court. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
2. Heard the learned Counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents.
3. Mr. V.Pandi, learned Government Advocate takes notice for the respondents. By consent, the Writ petition itself is taken up for final disposal.
4. Having regard to the limited scope of the prayer in the writ petition without expressing any opinion on the merits of the petitioner's case, this Court is inclined to issue the following direction:- "The first respondent, namely, The Agricultural Production Commissioner and Principal Secretary to Government, Agriculture Department, Chennai, is directed to pass appropriate orders on the petitioners representation, dated, 29.01.2017, on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order."
5. Accordingly, the Writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
