*********** [Order of the Court was made by S.NAGAMUTHU, J.] The petitioner has come up with this Public Interest Litigation seeking a direction to the respondents to forbear from altering or changing the name of Arulanthapuram, Eluvaraimukki Village, Sathankulam Taluk, Thoothukudi District from Government records and buildings etc., and to retain the name of Arulanthapuram in the records permanently.

2. This Public Interest Litigation has come up today for admission. We have heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate, taking notice for the respondents 1 to 4 and we have also perused the records carefully.

3. In our considered view, changing the name of a village, a street or a building falls within the wisdom of the Government and the other authorities who are competent to do the same. The petitioner has got no right to demand that a particular name should be affixed to a building, a street or a village or a particular name should not be given for the same. It is the policy decision of the Government and the authorities concerned, into which, we cannot interfere with. The Writ Petition is, therefore, dismissed. No costs. Consequently, the connected miscellaneous petition is also dismissed.
