Mr.A.K.Manickam, learned Standing Counsel for Government takes notice on behalf of the respondent.

2. By consent, this Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

3. According to the petitioner, he was appointed as Grade-II Police Constable with effect from 01.12.2017 and his service was regularised from 01.12.2017. The grievance of the petitioner is that the other similary placed persons like the petitioner, who were all selected and appointed as Youth Brigades were absorped as Grade II Police Constable with effect from 26.02.2016. However, the seniority of the petitioner was fixed with effect from 01.12.2017 belatedly. Therefore, the petitioner has submitted a representation on 30.07.2021 seeking to re-fix the seniority in the cadre of GradeII Police Constable w.e.f., 26.02.2016 to the respondent. W.P(MD)No.16501 of 2021 order has been passed on the said representation, the petitioner has filed this Writ Petition.

Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, this Court, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, directs the respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 30.07.2021, on tis own merits and in accordance with law and pass orders, as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of twelve (12) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
