ORDER : The Court made the following order :- The petitioner/A6, who apprehends arrest at the hands of the respondent police for the offences punishable under Sections 420 and 120(B) of I.P.C., in Crime No.4 of 2023, on the file of the respondent police, seeks anticipatory bail.

2.The case of the prosecution is that the petitioner along with other accused had approached the de-facto complainant and his son stating that if they invests money in the first accused company, viz., JNF Trading, they would be given 10% interest for such deposit. Believing the same, the de-facto complainant and his son were jointly invest a sum of Rs.1.20 crores in the business of A1. Later, the accused neither return the deposit nor paid the interest. Hence, the case.

4.It is seen that there are totally 7 accused involved in this case and the petitioner is arrayed as A6. The petitioner is none other than the wife of A2. The modus operandi of the accused persons is that they collected money, in order to cheat, from the general public in order to do the same in the trading business in the name and style of JNF Trading in all over Tamil Nadu and also in the State of Karnataka. They collected huge money from the general public and looted the same. Insofar as the petitioner is concerned, in Tirunelveli District, she collected a sum of Rs.6 crores from the general public and likewise in the Thoothukudi District, she collected a sum of Rs.18 Crores from the general public and thereafter cheated them. Therefore, the custodial interrogation of the petitioner is very much required in this case. That apart, the FIR was registered only in the recent time.

5.Taking into consideration the seriousness and gravity of the offence, this Court is not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.
