PRAYER : Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issuance of Writ of Mandamus, directing the first and second respondents to survey the petitioner's properties in S.No.491/2 to an extend of 0.52.00 Hectors respectively situated at Edaieruppu Village, Papanasam Taluk, Thanjavur District and to install the boundaries stones as per revenue records by obtaining adequate police protection from the third respondent police within the period.

This writ petition has been filed seeking a direction the first and second respondents to survey the petitioner's properties in S.No.491/2 to an extent of 0.52.00 Hectors respectively situated at Edaieruppu Village, Papanasam Taluk, Thanjavur District and to install the boundaries stones as per revenue records by obtaining adequate police protection from the third respondent police.

2.Heard the learned counsel for the parties.

3. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that an online application dated 14.05.2025 was made seeking survey and demarcation of the boundaries of the property in question. Since no action has been taken by the respondents, the present writ petition has been filed.

The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for respondents 1 and 2 submits that after issuing notice to the adjacent land owners, appropriate steps would be taken to survey and demarcate the land in accordance with Sections 9 and 10 of the Tamil Nadu Land Survey and Boundaries Act, 1923.

5. In view of the above, this writ petition stands disposed of with a direction to the first respondent/Tahsildar to consider and dispose of the petitioner's application dated 14.05.2025 for survey and demarcation on merits and in accordance with law. Notice shall be issued to the petitioner, respondents 4 to 6 and the owners of relevant adjacent lands 3/6

and appropriate orders shall be passed in accordance with Sections 9 and 10 of the Tamil Nadu Land Survey and Boundaries Act 1923, after recording objections, if any, within a period of sixteen weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
