PRAYER:

Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus,directing the respondent No.2 to provide Admission for 1st standard to the petitioner's son namely K.S.Madhu Dharsan (Application No.P-6979-2041333831) within the time stipulated by this Court.

ORDER

The prayer sought for in this writ petition for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the second respondent to provide admission for 1st standard to the petitioner's son, namely, K.S.Madhu Dharsan.

2.Heard Mr.T.Lajapathi Roy, learned Counsel appearing for the petitioner, Mr.G.Muthukannan, learned Government Advocate, appearing for the first respondent and Mr.E.T.Rajendran, learned Counsel appearing for the second respondent and perused the materials available on record.

3.The learned Counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that, it would suffice, if a direction is issued to the second respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner, dated 29.03.2017.

4.The learned counsel for the second respondent, on instructions, would submit that the second respondent has followed the guidelines and filled up all the seats and placed the petitioner's application in the waiting list No.47. The petitioner having known this fact, filed this Writ petition and seeks direction.

5.Considering the limited prayer sought for in the Writ petition and considering the submissions of the learned Counsel for the petitioner, without going into the merits of the case, this Court directs the second respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner, dated 29.03.2017 on merits and in accordance with law, after providing opportunity to necessary parties within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6.With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
