: Respondents PRAYER: Criminal Original Petition is filed under Section 482 of Cr.P.C. to issue a direction, directing the respondents to provide adequate police protection to the petitioner and her family members, based on the petitioner's representation dated 04/09/2018.

ORDER

The criminal original petition has been filed seeking for police protection.

2.The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner's sister got married to a boy belonging to the Hindu religion and therefore, the Jammad has taken a decision to excommunicate all the family members. As a result of the same, the petitioner is not even able to go to her own property. Further submission made by the learned counsel for the petitioner is that when the properties of the petitioner were also damaged by certain miscreants, a complaint has been given to the respondent police in that regard.

3.The learned Government Advocate for the respondents would submit that already the respondent police have registered the FIR in Crime No.414 of 2018 for various offences of IPC and also under https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

the TNPPDL Act against 12 persons. The learned Government Advocate would further submit that the investigation is pending. 4.In the facts and circumstances of the case, there shall be a direction to the respondent police to ensure that there is no threat caused to the petitioner and her family members and if situation warrants, the respondent police may also provide adequate police protection to the petitioner and her family members and take appropriate action against the concerned persons in accordance with law.

5.This criminal original petition is disposed of with the above direction.
