Respondents Prayer: Writ Petitions are filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for the issuance of a writ of mandamus directing the respondents to process the petitioner's application submitted on 08.08.2017 to grant the license for servicing of Taxi and Auto Rickshaw fare Electronic Meters and sealing the inspected digital meters as per Rule 234-A of Tamil Nadu Motor Vehicle Rules, 18 based on the petitioner's representation on 21.01.201 and 26.04.201 within a reasonable time that may be stipulated by this Court.

The petitioner seeks mandamus to the respondent to process his application submitted on 08.08.2017 for grant of license for servicing Taxi and Auto-rickshaw fare electronic meters and sealing the inspected digital meters as per Rule 234-A of the Tamilnadu Motor Vehicle Rules, 1989.

2. The petitioner has filed representations on 21.01.2019 and 26.04.2019 requesting the processing of his application but the same is admittedly pending, as on date.
3. Mr.Thiyagarajan, learned Government Advocate, who has accepted notice on behalf of the respondents, confirms that the application dated 8.8.2017 is pending and has been received by the fourth respondent and that a direction may be issued to him to dispose the same in time bound fashion.
4. In the light of the aforesaid, a mandamus is issued to the Regional Transport Officer, Madurai South, Madurai to consider the application of the petitioner dated 08.08.2017 and pass orders after hearing the petitioner on merits and in accordance with law within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
5. This writ petition is disposed in the abovesaid terms. No costs.
