O R D E R
This writ petition has been filed for the issuance of a writ of mandamus, to direct the first respondent to dispose of the petitioner's appeal dated 07.10.2015 and pass orders in the light of G.O.Ms.No.78 (Revenue (Ser-(7)1) Department), dated 16.02.2015. 2.Heard Mr.R.Karunanidhi, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mrs.S.Bharathi, learned Government Advocate, who takes notice on behalf of the respondents. By consent the writ petition itself is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage.
3.According to the petitioner, he has completed six years of service as Village Administrative Officer but the third respondent did not include his name in the promotion panel for the post of Revenue Assistant. It is stated that the Government Order in G.O.Ms.No.78 (Revenue (Ser-(7)1) Department), dated 16.02.2015 contemplates that the Village Administrative Officers who have completed six years service will be considered for promotion to the post of Revenue Assistant. Hence, the petitioner has preferred an appeal before the first respondent on the basis of the said Government Order, which is still pending. Therefore, the petitioner has come up with the above writ petition. 4.Under such circumstances, the first respondent is directed to consider the appeal preferred by the petitioner on 07.10.2015 in the light of the Government Order in G.O.Ms.No.78 (Revenue (Ser-(7)1) Department), dated 16.02.2015 and pass appropriate orders, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
