G.O.No.SR.III/1064-1/2017, dated 01.09.2017 and quash the same and release the petitioner to free move from the Special Camp, Kottapattu, Tiruchirappalli.

O R D E R

This petition is for mandamus to quash G.O.No.SR.III/1064-1/2017, dated 01.09.2017 and release the petitioner to free move from the Special Camp, Kottapattu, Tiruchirappalli.

2.The above said Government Order directed the presence of the petitioner in the Special Camp for the Srilankan immigrants/refugees located at Tiruchirappalli. It is reported by the both the learned counsel for the petitioner as well as by the learned Government Advocate for the State that the petitioner was thereafter tried and convicted for the offence under Sections 294(b), 353, 506(ii) IPC and Section 14 of Foreigners (Amendment) Act 2004 and sentenced to undergo two months rigorous imprisonment for the offence under Section 294(b) IPC; to undergo one year

rigorous imprisonment for the offence under Section 353 IPC; to undergo three years rigorous imprisonment for the offence under Section 506(ii) IPC and to undergo four years rigorous imprisonment and to pay a fine of Rs. 10,000/-, in default, to undergo three months simple imprisonment for the offence under Section 14A(b) of Foreigners (Amendment) Act, 2004. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor further submitted that the petitioner is now confined in Puzhal Central Prison, Chennai.

3. In view of the same, the prayer sought for in this writ petition has now become infructuous. Accordingly, this writ petition is dismissed as infructuous. No Costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petitions are closed.
