PRAYER: Writ petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondent to appoint the petitioner as sweeper on compassionate ground with the respondent corporation or any other suitable post within the time period stipulated by this Court.

This Writ petition has been filed by the petitioner, directing the respondent to appoint the petitioner as sweeper on compassionate ground with the respondent corporation or any other suitable post within the time period stipulated by this Court.
2. Heard the learned Counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned counsel appearing for the respondent.
3. Mr. J.Lawrence, learned Counsel takes notice for the respondent. By consent, the Writ petition itself is taken up for final disposal.
4.The petitioner states that his mother expired due to illness on 02.11.2014. He also states that he is a dependant and that the other legal heirs of his mother had no objection to provide compassionate appointment to the petitioner. The petitioner requested the respondent by submitting the representation, dated 12.01.2015. The petitioner is now seeking the indulgence of this Court to direct the respondent to consider his representation, dated 12.01.2015 and the further representation, dated 27.03.2017 on merits within a time stipulated by this Court.

Having regard to the limited scope of the prayer that is now sought before this Court by the learned Counsel for the petitioner without expressing any opinion on the merits of the petitioner's case, this Court is inclined to issue the following direction:- "The respondent is directed to consideer the petitioner's representation dated, 12.01.2015 and subsequent representation dated 27.03.2017, and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order."
6. Accordingly, the Writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
