JUDGMENT
(Judgment of the Court was made by A.D.JAGADISH CHANDIRA,J.) When the matter was taken up for hearing today, the learned counsel for the appellant would submit that the appellant, while he was undergoing treatment for Carcinoma Esophagus at Government Rajaji Hospital, Madurai, had passed away on 09.10.2023.
2. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor has produced a copy of the letter dated 13.10.2023 sent by the Superintendent of Prisons, Central Prison, Madurai to the Secretary to Government, Home (Prisons) Department, Chennai, confirming that the appellant had passed away on 09.10.2023 at Government Rajaji Hospital, Madurai.
3. In view of the above, this Criminal Appeal is dismissed as abated. Consequently connected miscellaneous petition is closed. (A.D.J.C.,J.) (K.R.S.,J.) 03.07.2024 NCC : Yes / No Index : Yes / No Lm To 1.The Sessions Judge, Special Court for POCSO Act Cases, Virudhunagar District at Srivilliputtur.
