Prayer: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents 1 to 5 to permit the petitioner and his clan members to participate and worship in the Sri Selva Vinayagar - Sri Subramaniyar Swami Temple festival which is scheduled to be conducted on 16.09.2016 from 10.00a.m., onwards at Thippan Viduthi North Street, Venkarai Post, Orathanadu Taluk, Thanjavur District with adequate police protection. The writ petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondents 1 to 5 to permit the petitioner and his clan members to participate and worship in the Sri Selva Vinayagar - Sri Subramaniyar Swami Temple festival scheduled to be held on 16.09.2016. 2.Mr.K.P.Krishna Doss, learned Government Advocate, takes notice for the respondents. By consent, the writ petition itself is taken up for final disposal.

3. The learned Government Advocate, on instructions, would submit that the petitioner and the respondents 6 and 7 are belonging to the same community and in a peace committee meeting conducted by the Tahsildar, Orathanadu on 14.09.2016, the rival group agreed to permit the petitioner to participate in the festival.

4. Considering the submissions made by the learned Government Advocate, this Writ Petition is disposed of by directing the respondents 1 to 5 to provide police protection to the petitioner and his clan members at the time of worship in the Sri Selva Vinayagar - Sri Subramaniyar Swami Temple festival scheduled to be conducted on 16.09.2016, at Thippan Viduthi North Street, Venkarai Post, Orathanadu Taluk, Thanjavur District. No costs. Consequently, the connected Miscellaneous Petition is closed.
