Prayer: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a writ of Mandamus directing the 2nd respondent to give Free Electricity Service Connection for agriculture purpose to the petitioner's Well Motor situated in S.No.214/1, Melakottaiyur Village, Melacaucery P.O., Kumbakonam Taluk, Thanjavur District by considering the petitioner's representation dated 26.08.2016.

O R D E R

This writ petition has been filed, seeking to direct the 2nd respondent to give Free Electricity Service Connection for agriculture purpose to the petitioner's Well Motor situated in https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

S.No.214/1, Melakottaiyur Village, Melacaucery P.O., Kumbakonam Taluk, Thanjavur District by considering the petitioner's representation dated 26.08.2016.

2. The petitioner has submitted that she has presented an application along with necessary documents on 30.01.2001 to the 3rd respondent for providing Free Service Connection to operate a 5 H.P. Motor to take water from her Well; subsequently, it was informed by the 3rd respondent that she had attained seniority in respect of a scheme, for which she has to pay only Rs.10,000/- to avail the benefit; since she was not in a position to pay the amount, she submitted a detailed representation dated 26.08.2016 to the 1st respondent; except forwarding the said representation to the 2nd respondent, no action has been taken thereon and hence, the petitioner is before this Court.

3. Learned Additional Government Pleader has submitted that the respondents are ready and prepared to consider the representation dated 26.08.2016 of the petitioner and will pass suitable orders thereon within the time frame to be fixed by this Court.

4. Under such circumstances, the concerned respondent, before whom the representation dated 26.08.2016 of the petitioner is pending, is directed to consider the said representation and pass appropriate orders on the same on merits and in accordance with law within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
