Respondents PRAYER: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to grant permission and necessary protection to conduct Pongal Festival and its allied events such as sport events for the children, Anna Dhanam, Temple Pooja, Cultural Events, etc., at Kaya Vembupathi Narayanaswami Kovil at Kayavembu Pathi, Rasthakadu, Variyoor Post, Kanyakumari District scheduled to be held on 14.01.2017, 15.01.2017 and 16.01.2017.

ORDER

[Order of the Court was made by A.SELVAM, J.] This writ petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to direct the respondents to give necessary permission for conducting sports events from 14.01.2017 to 16.01.2017, in the place mentioned in the petition, by way of issuing a writ of mandamus.

2.Mr.D.Muruganandam, learned Additional Government Pleader, has taken notice for the respondents.

3.It is seen from the records that on 03.01.2017 a representation has been given to the respondents. But the same has not been considered.

4.Considering the aforesaid aspect, the following order can be issued.

5.In fine, this writ petition is allowed in part without costs and the second respondent viz., Inspector of Police, Anjugramam Police Station is directed to look into the representation dated 03.01.2017 and dispose of the same immediately.
