This Criminal Original Petition has been filed to direct the 1st respondent to provide police protection to the petitioner by considering the representation dated 10.10.2020. 2.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner reiterated the contentions set out in the original petition. 1/3
3.When the matter is taken up for hearing today, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing on behalf of the respondents 1 & 2, on instructions, would submit that the petitioner has given his representation to the Inspector of Police, District Crime Branch, Ramanathapuram instead of Thiruvadanai Police Station. Further, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor would submit that the petitioner was issued with summons on 23.11.2020 and the petitioner also appeared and he was instructed to approach the concerned jurisdictional police station, i.e Thiruvadanai Police Station for his relief.
4.Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondents 1& 2.
5.Recording the submission so made by the learned Additional Public Prosecutor, the petitioner is at liberty to place his representation before the concerned jurisdictional police station and on receipt of the same, the concerned jurisdictional police is directed to consider same, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and give police protection to the petitioner, if necessary. If it is found that police protection is not necessary, the same shall be communicated to the petitioner so that he can work out his rights in the manner known to law.
6.With the above direction, this criminal original petition is closed.
