PRAYER:Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a writ of mandamus, directing the respondent to issue Patta in favour of the petitioner, his son S.Jerome and his daughter S.Arul Jothi.

O R D E R

This Writ Petition is filed for issuance of writ of mandamus directing the respondent to issue Patta in favour of the petitioner, his son and his daughter.

2.The petitioner would claim that his wife Annammal, purchased Nanja land from one S.Balakrishnan on 14.06.1990 in survey No.10/2 and Re-survey No.10/3 and on the same day, also purchased a land in survey No.7/3 in Kallanai Village, Madurai District through three registered sale deeds. After the demise of the petitioner's wife on 24.02.1999, the petitioner approached the respondent seeking issuance of Patta. Since, no action was taken, he sent a representation to the District Collector and the Revenue Divisional Officer on 13.03.2017. Since, there is no progress, the present writ petition is filed.

3.Mr.D.Muruganantham, learned Additional Government Pleader, on instructions, would submit that there are many sub divisions in survey Nos.10/2, 10/3 and 7/3 and if the petitioner produces all the relevant documents, the respondent is ready to consider the representation of the petitioner.

4.Considering the nature of the prayer sought for in the writ petition and submission of the learned Additional Government Pleader, the petitioner is directed to produce all the relevant documents to the respondent, within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. On such compliance, the respondent shall pass orders on the representation of the petitioner, dated 13.03.2017 on merits and in accordance with law, after providing opportunity to all the necessary parties with in a period of eight weeks therefrom.

5.The writ petition is disposed of with the above directions. No costs.
