PRAYER: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the 1st respondent to take necessary action against 1/5

the respondents 2, 3 and 5 for wasting the public fund for constructing nineteen class room building on the already acquired land inside the premises of girls higher secondary school on Kanagi Road, Palani, Palani Municipality, Dindigul District for expansion of State Highways road on the basis of the petitioner's representation dated 05.03.2025.

ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by S.M.SUBRAMANIAM, J.) The relief sought for in the present Writ Petition is to direct the 1st respondent to take necessary action against the respondents 2, 3 and 5 for wasting the public fund by constructing nineteen class room building on the already acquired land inside the premises of Girls Higher Secondary School on Kanagi Road, Palani, Palani Municipality, Dindigul District for expansion of State Highways road on the basis of the petitioner's representation dated 05.03.2025. 2.It is needless to state that public funds are to be utilized for developing welfare projects in the interest of public. The authorities competent are bound to 2/5

make an assessment before spending public money. Efforts are to be taken to avoid unnecessary expenditure in the interest of public. However, the petitioner, in the present case, seeks a direction to the respondents 2, 3 and 5 not to construct class rooms. This Court cannot form an opinion with reference to such administrative decisions taken by the authorities. However, the authorities competent can look into the allegations set out by the petitioner in his complaint and if necessary, initiate appropriate action. 3.With the above observation, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
