Prayer : Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, seeking for the issuance of Writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondents herein to remove the petitioner's name and close the history sheet in HS No.1 of 2013 maintaining by the 4th respondent Police, by following the guidelines issued in the decisions in Sabari @ Sabarigiri vs. Assistant Commissioner of Police, Annanagar (L&O) Range, Madurai City, Madurai and others reported in 2018 4 MLJ (Crl.) 585 and Thirumagan vs. The Superintendent of Police, Madurai District, reported in 2020 (2) LW (Crl.) 266, by considering the representation sent by the petitioner dated 26.05.2025.

ORDER

The petitioner, a history sheeted rowdy, has approached this Court seeking a direction to the respondents to remove his name from the history sheet and close the history sheet in HS No.1 of 2013 maintaining by the 4th respondent Police, by following the guidelines issued in the decisions in Sabari @ Sabarigiri vs. Assistant Commissioner of Police, Annanagar (L&O) Range, Madurai City, Madurai and others reported in 2018 4 MLJ (Crl.) 585 and Thirumagan vs. The Superintendent of 2/5

Police, Madurai District, reported in 2020 (2) LW (Crl.) 266, by considering his representation dated 26.05.2025.

2. Mr.E.Antony Sahaya Prabahar, Additional Public Prosecutor takes notice for the respondents and submits that the petitioner has not involved in any offence from the year 2020 and they have to review the history sheet opened against him. He further submits that the review would be made in the month of July 2025.

3. In view of the said submission, this Writ Petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondent Police to take a decision on the History Sheet opened against the petitioner in HS No.1 of 2013, as per the guidelines issued by the Director General of Police, Chennai, in a Circular in Rc.No. 66569/Crime 3(2)/2019, dated 24.04.2019.
