ORDER : The Court made the following order :- The petitioner/accused who apprehends arrest at the hands of the respondent 1/3

police for the offences punishable under sections 120(b), 294(b), 403, 406, 420 and 506 (i) of IPC in Crime No.185 of 2023 on the file of the respondent police, seeks anticipatory bail.

2. The case of the prosecution is that the defacto complainant had lent money to the accused persons and the accused persons refused to repay back the amount. When the amount was demanded, the accused persons are said to have threatened him with dire consequences and attempted to cheat him.

3. The matter was referred to the Mediation Centre and the parties were able to reach a settlement. A settlement agreement dated 17.10.2024 was also signed between the parties along with their respective counsel. A mediation report has been sent to this Court along with the settlement agreement.

4. As per the settlement agreement, the defacto complainant has agreed to withdraw the case. It is agreed that there are no further liabilities between the parties.

5. In view of the above, there shall be a direction to the respondent Police to close the case in Crime No.185 of 2023 in view of the settlement between the parties. This process shall be completed within a period of one week from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
