ORDER

This Civil Revision Petition is filed for expediting the disposal of R.C.O.P.No.4 of 2015 pending on the file of learned Rent Controller, Karaikudi/District Munsif Court, Karaikudi.

2.The learned counsel for the revision petitioners/landlord in R.C.O.P.No.4 of 2015 has submitted that the trial of the case is over and the matter is posted for argument and at that point of time the learned Rent Controller was transferred and for the last five years, the successor Rent Controller has not taken up the matter for argument. He also added that since the transfer of the Rent Controller referred to above, the respondent tenant has filed an application for restoration of amenities and also taken out a Commission and this was challenged in the revision petition by the landlord and that came to be dismissed and for the last 11⁄2 years, the case was not taken up for hearing.

3.This Court can appreciate that after 23.03.2020, normal functioning of the Court was affected by the onset of Covid-19 Pandemic. Still, there is no justification in keeping a case in the argument stage for few months even prior to COVID-19 lockdown. 4.In the result, the Civil Revision Petition is allowed and the Rent Controller, Karaikudi/District Munsif Court, Karaikudi is directed https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/ 1/2

C.R.P.(PD)(MD)No.924 of 2020 to dispose of the matter on or before 31.01.2021. Since this matter is pending in argument stage, no extension of time will be granted unless it is for very extraordinary circumstance. No costs.
