O R D E R

This Writ Petition is filed to direct the respondents herein to forthwith restore the signal and supply of telecast to the petitioner control room at Chathirapatti, via Rajapalayam, Virudhunagar District and consequently direct the respondents herein to maintain the supply of signal and channel separately to the petitioner.

2. The petitioner is a Local Cable TV Operator who has been carrying on the business through proper licence. He has been telecasting the channels through cable TV in Chathirapatti,

Samusikapati, Sankarapandipuram, Velayuthapuram and Ayyanapuram Villages. The signal and supply channel have been given to the petitioner through Sivakasi Cable TV Control Room through Rajapalayam and from Rajapalayam the signal is sent through Fibre Optical Line for the two Cable TV operators including the petitioner. According to the petitioner, the said signal from Rajapalayam ought to have been divided into two equal supply channel for two Cable TV operators. However, the signal from Rajapalayam has been given to the petitioner through another Cable TV operator, who has been interfering and interrupting supply to the petitioner's control room. Consequently, from 04.01.2017, there is no signal from the other Cable TV operator to the petitioner and hence, he is unable to telecast the programme.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that in view of the ensuing Pongal festival, his customers are eagerly waiting to watch Television programmes. In this connection, he has also made representation to the third respondent on 04.01.2017.

Though the petitioner has sought for a larger relief for a direction to restore the signal and supply of telecast to the petitioner's control room, the learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that he would be satisfied, if the third respondent is directed to consider his representation before Pongal festival.

5. Taking into consideration the interest of the general public, who might be affected, if the signal to the petitioner's control room is not restored. The third respondent is directed to consider the petitioner's representation dated 04.01.2017 on or before 14.01.2017 and pass orders on the same. 6.With the above direction, the Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous Petition is closed.
