This Writ Petition has been filed seeking permission and Police protection to conduct temple festival in Sri Manthaiamman @ Sri Mariamman, Sri Vinayagar, Sri Murugan at Balathupatti, Kannukuzhi Village, Murugapuri Taluk, Trichy District. 2.The grievance of the petitioner is that they have a right to conduct Mandagapadi in the above said Temple. But the third respondent is preventing them from doing so. In this regard, a suit is also pending between the parties. In view of the above circumstances, the present petition has been filed seeking for Police protection, https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/ 3.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that there are two rival groups and the petitioner alone
has the right to conduct Mandagapadi, but the third respondent prevented him.
4.Today, when the matter was taken up for hearing, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondents submitted that in view of rival claim, now, the matter is pending before the Tahsildar, Marungapuri, for conducting a Peace Committee Meeting.
5.Considering the fact that now the matter is pending before the Tahsildar, the petitioner is directed to appear before the Tahsildar and co-operate with the Tahsildar to conduct the Peace Committee meeting. At this stage the prayer sought for by the petitioner cannot be granted.
6.Accordingly, the Writ Petition stands dismissed. No costs.
