ORDER

This petition has been filed to quash the First Information Report in Crime No.2594 of 2020 pending investigation on the file of the first respondent.

2.Heard Mr.P.Manikandan, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.S.Ravi, learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the first respondent.

3.In the instant case, there was an agitation during the pandemic period resulting in the registration of the First Information Report as against 318 persons for the offences under Sections 341, 143 and 269 of IPC and Section 3 of the Epidemic Diseases Act, 1897. 4.In the considered view of this Court, the First Information Report came to be registered during the pandemic period and it will not have any significance after the passage of nearly four years. The facts of the present case can be brought within the scope of Section 95 of IPC. 2/4

5.In view of the above, the First Information Report in Crime No. 2594 of 2020 pending on the file of the first respondent is quashed in its entirety and the Criminal Original Petition stands allowed.
