Heard the learned counsel on either side.

2. The petitioner seeks renewal of the petition mentioned passport. The only impediment appears to be the pendency of some

proceedings before the judicial Magistrate, Kumbakonam. It is seen that the petitioner was earlier history sheeted. But then it is seen that he was acquitted in all those cases. What is now pending is only the proceedings under Section 151 of Cr.P.C r/w Section 7(1) (a) CLA Act.

3. I am of the view that on this ground, the respondent need not deny the renewal of passport. The first respondent is directed to renew the petitioner's passport without any delay.

4. The writ petition is allowed accordingly. No costs.
