O R D E R

(Order of the Court was made by K.K.SASIDHARAN, J.) The petitioner filed this writ petition to restrain the respondents from locating a TASMAC retail shop at S.No.286/93 in Soorapallam Village, Thanjavur District.

2.The counter affidavit filed by the District Manager, TASMAC indicates that the proposal is to locate the liquor shop at S.No.286/9B Soorapallam Village, Thanjavur District. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/ 3.The District Collector is directed to consider the representation submitted by the petitioner dated 20 March 2017, on

merits and as per law. It is needless to point out that the Collector shall direct inspection by an officer not below the rank of Thasildar, before the disposal of the matter. The report should be submitted to the District Collector along with a sketch indicating the location of TASMAC Shop and the nearest educational institutions and other public places. The District Collector is directed to consider the report and pass orders on merits and as per law. The Status quo as on 19 April 2017, shall be maintained till the disposal of the matter by the District Collector. 4.The writ petition is disposed of with the above direction. No costs. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous Petition is closed.
