PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus to direct the first and second respondents to take action on the complaint of the petitioner's dated 19.07.2022 and give adequate police protection to the petitioner shop and his employees life and limb.

ORDER

This writ petitioner filed this Writ Petition to direct the first and second respondents to take action on the complaint of the petitioner dated 19.07.2022 and give adequate police protection to the petitioner's shop and his employees' life and limb.

2.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner is running a steel company in the name and style of Janatha Steel and he has purchased raw materials from the 5th respondent herein for so many years and bought materials for around Rs.7,50,00,000/- and repaid the same with interest within short times. Due to covid-19 situation, the petitioner was unable to repay a sum of Rs.13,00,000/- in time and sought for further time of settlement. But the 5th respondent threatened the petitioner and on the instigation of the 5th respondent, the 4th respondent, who is the Inspector of Police, threatened the petitioner through phone. Hence, the petitioner gave a complaint to the first and second respondents, but sofar, no action has been taken. Therefore, he filed this petition for seeking police protection. 2 / 4

3.The learned Government Advocate (Crl.side) appearing for the respondent police would submit that the petitioner's compalint, dated 19.07.2022, is pending before the first respondent police. 4.Recording the said submission made by the learned Government Advocate (Crl.side), the first respondent police is directed to take action upon the petitioner's complaint, dated 19.07.2022 within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 5.With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
