ORDER
The present Writ Petition has been filed for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the first respondent to survey and demarcate the petitioner's lands comprised in S.F. Nos. 427/1, 431/2A, 431/2C, 432 and 434/2, situated at Mellakal Village, Vadipatti Taluk, Madurai District, measuring an extent of 2 hectares and 15.50 ares, with the assistance of the jurisdictional police, if necessary, in consonance with Section 10(1) of the Tamil Nadu Survey and Boundaries Act, 1923, based on the petitioner's application bearing No. 2026/0123/24/002885 dated 04.04.2026, within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.

The petitioner is claiming right over the property comprised in S.F.Nos. 427/1, 431/2A, 431/2C, 432 and 434/2, measuring an extent of 2 hectares and 15.50 ares, which was purchased through a sale deed vide Document No.1203 of 2000 dated 14.06.2000. According to the petitioner, the second respondent, who is his brother, is interfering with his peaceful possession and enjoyment of the property. Hence, the petitioner is seeking to survey and demarcate the subject 2/5
property.
3. In view of the above, the first respondent is directed to conduct a survey, after issuing notice to the petitioner and the rival claimants, if any. If the first respondent requires police protection, the same shall be provided by the jurisdictional police. The official respondents shall adhere to the following Standard Operating Procedures:
• The official respondents shall issue notice to the petitioner immediately reaching the spot where survey is to be conducted. The petitioner shall affix the signature by receiving the notice of survey. • After survey again the petitioner shall affix signature indicating that the survey was conducted to their satisfaction.
• If the petitioner is not satisfied, then also the petitioner shall affix signature indicating their dissatisfaction or with protest. The petitioner shall indicate that reason of their dissatisfaction or protest. The aforesaid procedure shall be strictly followed by the parties. The said exercise shall be completed within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

4. With the above directions, this Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
