O R D E R

This criminal original petition has been filed seeking a direction to the learned Judicial Magistrate No.II, Dindigul, to dispose the trial proceedings in C.C.No.600 of 2018, within a stipulated time. 2.The learned Counsel appearing for the petitioners submits that it is a case of the year 2018, which is still pending without any progress. 3.The learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing for the respondent police submits that in this case, summonses have been issued to the witnesses L.W.1 to L.W.5 and the case is posted on 11.09.2024 for their appearance.

4.This Court is unable to accept the contention of the respondent police that the summonses have been issued to the witnesses that too only recently. This Court expects that the Judicial Officers as well as the police officials has to give priority to old cases. Any further delay would certainly demoralize the witnesses. Therefore, the trial Court is directed to complete 2/4

the trial, as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of three months.

With the above direction, this criminal original petition is disposed of.
