This Writ petition has been filed by the petitioner for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the first respondent I.e., the Principal Secretary and Commissioner of Revenue Administration, Chennai to pass appropriate orders on the proposals sent by the second respondent i.e., the District Collector, Tiruchirappalli in his letter R.C.No.A3/32131/2010, dated 19.08.2010 regarding inclusion of the petitioner's name in the list of Deputy Tahsildars of the year 2008 on par with the proceedings No.Ser:3(5)/47260/2015, dated 17.02.2017 of the Principal Secretary and Commissioner of Revenue Administration, Chennai, within a specified time frame that may be fixed by this Court.

2. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents.

3. Mr.C.Selvaraj, learned Special Government Pleader, takes notice for the respondents. By consent, the Writ petition itself is taken up for final disposal.

4.Having regard to the limited scope of the prayer in the Writ petition, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the petitioner's case, this Court is inclined to issue the following direction:- "The first respondent, namely, Principal Secretary and Commissioner of Revenue Administration, Chennai, is directed to pass appropriate orders on the proposals sent by the second respondent/District Collector, Tiruchirappalli, in his letter Na.Ka.No.A3/32131/2010, dated 19.08.2010, regarding the inclusion of the petitioner's name in the list of Deputy Tahsildars of the year 2008, purely on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order."
