PRAYER: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to strictly implement the Government Order passed by the respondent No.1 in G.O.Ms.No.349, dated 14.10.1987, relating to display the name boards of the Government and private establishments in 5:3:2 ratio in Tamil, followed by English and other languages within the time stipulated by this Court.

ORDER

[Order of the Court was made by G.R.SWAMINATHAN, J.] The writ petitioner has filed this writ petition for strict implementation of G.O.Ms.No.349, dated 14.10.1987, with regard to display of the name boards of the Government and other establishments in the ratio 5:3:2 in Tamil, followed by English and other languages.

2.The writ petitioner has submitted a representation, dated 21.03.2017 in this regard.

3.We direct the first respondent to dispose of the representation of the petitioner dated 21.03.2017 in the light of the mandate set out in the said G.O.Ms.No.349, dated 14.10.1987. Such exercise shall be completed within a period of four months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 4.The Writ Petition is disposed of with the above direction. No costs.
