O R D E R

This Writ Petition is filed in the nature of Mandamus seeking a direction against the second respondent, the Tahsildar, Srivaikundam Taluk,Thoothukudi District to grant patta to the petitioner for the land which he had purchased by a sale deed in Document No.1964/2018 dated 03.08.2010 measuring 10 cents at Survey No.884/5, at Kasilingapuram, Singattakurichi Village, Srivaikundam Taluk, Thoothukudi District.

2. The learned counsel for the petitioner states that from the date of purchase, the petitioner has been in continuous occupation and he had applied for issuance of patta. The petitioner has given a representation. Mandamus is sought to consider the said representation.

3. A direction is issued to the second respondent to issue notice to the petitioner herein to examine the title deed of the petitioner and if required, make necessary enquiries and if satisfied, proceed to do necessary needful in this regard. The said exercise shall be completed 2/4

within a period of 8 weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

4. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
