PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents 1 to 4 herein to issue suitable guidelines regarding laying drinking water pipe lines in Raja Rajeshwari Nagar and adjoining areas in Ward No.27,Melappalayam Zone, Tirunelveli Corporation by considering the representation of the petitioner dated 20.10.2020 within the time frame stipulated by this Court. [Order of the Court was made by S.M.SUBRAMANIAM, J.] This writ petition is filed seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus to direct the respondents 1 to 4 herein to issue suitable guidelines regarding laying drinking waterpipe lines in Raja Rajeshwari Nagar and adjoining areas in Ward No.27, Melappalayam Zone, Tirunelveli Corporation, by considering the representation of the petitioner dated 20.10.2020 within the time frame stipulated by this Court.

2. The relief sought for in the present writ petition is misconceived. The court need not issue suitable guidelines regarding laying drinking water pipelines, since it is the duty of the department concerned to execute the work and maintain the same properly in consonance with the statutes and rules. Thus, this writ petition stands dismissed. No costs.
