ORDER
This writ petition has been filed by the petitioners seeking a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondent to provide Electricity Connection to the house in D.No.85/8A1, Kamachi Amman Koil Street, Mela Annupanady, Madurai, based on their application dated 15.06.2016.
2. According to the petitioners, the property in question belonged to their grandfather and by registered settlement deed dated 15.09.2004, the same was transferred in their names. Thereafter, they submitted an application before the respondent dated 15.06.2016, seeking electricity connection to the aforesaid property, which according to them is kept pending, without any action and hence, they are before this Court. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
3. When the matter is taken up for hearing, the learned Counsel for the petitioners submitted that it would be suffice, if the application of the petitioners is disposed of by the respondent, within a stipulated time limit, in the manner known to law.
4. On the other hand, the learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondent, on instructions, submitted that no such application/representation was received and he fairly submitted that if the petitioners submit a copy of the representation, the respondent shall consider the same and pass orders, on merits.
5. Under such circumstances, to give quietus, this Court, without going into the merits of the case, directs the petitioners to submit a copy of their application/representation along with a copy of this order to the respondent, within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. On receipt of the same, the respondent shall consider the same and pass appropriate orders, on its own merits and in accordance with law, after affording due opportunity of hearing to the petitioners, within a period of four weeks, thereafter.
6. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
